Milan Momcilovic made more threes than anyone in Division I last season, at the best percentage in the country. Now he takes that to Kentucky.

Milan Momcilovic didn’t just shoot a lot of threes at Iowa State last season. He made more of them than anybody in Division I, and he made them at a higher rate than anybody too.
Volume and efficiency usually pull against each other. Guys who take a ton of threes tend to settle into the high 30s, because the defense knows it’s coming and the shots get tougher. Momcilovic led the country in both at once.
Where they came from
We placed every one of his made threes on the court using ESPN’s play-by-play shot locations, all 37 games. Most of them came from the wings, but there isn’t really a cold spot. He was making them from all the way around the arc.

That shooting is Kentucky’s now. Spacing like that changes what an offense can do: every drive has an open man to kick to, and a defense that helps off him gets punished.
